Letter|Space

"Design a letterform that is informed by a space, place or location you encounter in your everyday life"

 

This letterform is inspired by the sense of belonging (an affinity for a place or situation – Oxford Languages) and it is intended to illustrate the personal sense of belonging I feel when reading. The ‘B’ itself is constructed using origami of a page of The Great Gatsby, and as nothing provides a sense of belonging like reading for me, I chose one of my favourite books. As well as this I used Pantone 628, I chose this colour because it is one of my favourites and it communicates the continuing theme of isolation throughout the book.
