Habeas Corpus

Habeas Corpus is a decorative typeface, developed in 2022. The initial typeface was part of a university project, for a crime fiction & true crime festival, aptly named 'Habeas Corpus'. The 'festival' celebrates crime fiction as well as true crime, with annual festival activities including - a murder mystery experience, book-swap, live readings, book signings, and author q&a sessions.

The typeface is inspired by the unique nature of fingerprints, and each letterform, numeral and symbol was created using a digital version of a fingerprint symbol which was created through lino printing.
